Days of Palestine, Jerusalem -Israeli Defence Minister Moshe Yaalon said on Monday that Israeli occupation is preparing for new war on Gaza, but hoped not to be soon.
While visiting an American warship at Haifa Seaport, Yaalon said: “The Palestinians in Gaza are still digging defence and assault tunnels and Hamas is still trying to afford missiles, but this is not in the same degree of previous successes.”
He was speaking while on board of the American warship, which travelled to the region as part of American-Israeli drills. US ambassador to Tel-Aviv attended his visit to the USS vessel.
“The military confrontation with Gaza is coming and we have to face it,” Yaalon said.

“We did not have stop improving out defence and assault weapons,” he added.
Yaalon insisted that the Israeli occupation is to carry out a new war on Gaza despite the complete calmness along the borders with the Gaza Strip and the fact that no rockets had been launched from Gaza towards the illegal Israeli settlements since the end of the 51-day war in 2014.
“Currently, the borders witness unprecedented calmness as Hamas does not fire any bullet; however, this is not enough,” he said. It seems that killing Palestinian children and women is enough for him.
During the 2014 Israeli offensive on Gaza, the Israeli occupation killed around 2,260 Palestinians, including more 550 were children and 299 women. Meanwhile, more than 11,000 were wounded and 1,500 children were orphaned.
At least142 Palestinian families had three or more members killed in the same incident, for a total of 742 fatalities.
More than18,000 housing units were destroyed in whole or part and 73 medical facilities and many ambulances were damaged. This is regardless to schools, mosques, universities and other facilities.
At the height of offensive, the number of IDP’s reached 500,000, or 28 per cent of the population in the Gaza Strip.
