Days of Palestine, Gaza Strip –Social media activists have started recently using ISIL-inspired term to refer to the occupation state of ‘Israel’.
‘The Jewish State of Israel in the Levant (JSIL)’ is how the activists refer to the state of ‘Israel’ when they tweet, post or comment about the Palestinian-Israeli conflict on Facebook, Twitter or any other social media. Some use this term in official websites.
Journalists Max Blumenthal and Rania Khalek were the first to use the term as a hashtag on Sunday and it has become popular among social media users.
Blumenthal used the term for the first time to make an analogy between ‘Israel’ and the Islamic State during a session of the Russell Tribunal on Palestine.
Both the Islamic State in the Levant and the Jewish State of Israel in the Levant claim that God given them the right to build their states in the same place –The Levant.
You can go for #JSIL here on Twitter and here on Facebook.
