Days of Palestine, Reports –An American company specialising in defence and security industries to supply ‘Israel’ with Iron Dome parts, Defence Update revealed on Wednesday.
The Raytheon Company has received a contract award from the Israeli Rafael Advanced Defence Systems Limited valued at $149.3m to provide components for the Tamir interceptor used in the defensive Iron Dome Weapon System.
According to Defence Update, the US taxpayers are to pay for the new weapons’ deal to the Israeli occupation, which has just ended a 51-day war on the Gaza Strip and killed more than 2,160 Palestinians and wounded more than 11,000 others, UN said, more than ¾ of them civilians.
Defence Update said: “The amount represents about two thirds of the special funding of $225m allocated by the US administration to restock Israeli arsenal of Iron Dome interceptors.”
Chief Executive Officer of Rafael Advanced Defence Systems DiDi Yaari said thanked the US for its support for the Israeli weapons arsenal.
“We are very appreciative of the US support for maintaining Iron Dome system,” Yaari said. “The partnership between the Missile Defence Agency and the Israeli Missile Defence Organisation has been extraordinary,” he added.
