The Israeli occupation issued new evacuation orders for thousands of Palestinians in three areas of the northern Gaza Strip, stoking fears of an imminent deadly ground invasion.
The Israeli military has issued a new order to displaced Palestinians in a designated block in eastern Beit Lahiya to immediately evacuate.
Avichay Adraee, the Arabic-language spokesman of the Israeli military, told Palestinians the area is “currently considered a dangerous combat zone”.
The area includes al-Manshiya, Sheikh Zayed and the Beit Lahiya project.
“The evacuation does not include medical facilities in the area,” Adraee said.
Earlier, Israeli attacks destroyed a preschool facility that housed many of the displaced families in the northern part of Gaza as well as a residential home in the eastern part of Gaza City. That’s the Tuffah neighbourhood, where 11 people from one family were killed, including four children and three women.
An attack on the al-Mawasi evacuation zone left five members of the same family dead and caused more difficulties on the ground. More families are being deliberately attacked in evacuation centres or in residential homes.
Along the same line, Gaza’s Government Media Office said it is sending out a “humanitarian SOS” to the international community to help 2 million internally displaced people in the besieged coastal enclave “before it’s too late”.
The office said it is making an urgent plea for help with the beginning of autumn and the possibility of experiencing dipping temperatures and “difficult weather conditions”.
“More than 74 percent of the tents of those who are internally displaced are not safe or suitable for use,” it said.
