As today, 21st March, marks the Arab national mothers’ day, 31 women, ten of which are mothers, lie imprisoned in the Israeli penitentiaries.
they are Severed from all their families as they pay a hefty price while stranded away from their lives, families, and loved ones.
The suffering of female prisoners in Israeli prisons continues as they call for support and attention. They demanded a few basic needs to be fulfilled: they requested a landline to call their relatives, they also asked for a female physician to check them. They also wanted a more varied selection of choices of the products they could purchase for the jail’s canteen.
Some prisoners like Shorouq al-Badan and Israa Jaabis, to name a few, weren’t allowed to meet or hug their own children.
The Palestinian women in confinement come as only one example of the systematic injustice the Israeli occupation forces imposed on Palestinian prisoners. they could spend years on end in jail without a fair trial where they can get the chance to be exonerated.
These incarcerations reach minors, women, and civilians alike and can be renewable without any clear charges. Many prisoners resort to life-threatening hunger strikes as their only means of revolting against these unlawful detentions.
Women in imprisonment call women’s rights organizations to call an end to these putative measures against women in particular and Palestinians in general.
