DaysofPal- Lebanon’s emergency medical services have reported 201 attacks in the last year, with 151 deaths and 212 injuries, the World Health Organization (WHO) revealed.
The WHO pointed out that the ongoing hostilities in Lebanon are posing significant challenges for emergency medical services.
158 ambulances, 57 fire trucks, 15 rescue vehicles, and 51 medical centers have also been affected during the attacks.
The continuous violence against ambulances, emergency medical services (EMS), and medical facilities is impeding rescue and relief efforts and ultimately raising the death toll.
According to a recent report by Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health, there have been 80 attacks on hospitals and primary health facilities in Lebanon since the start of the conflict until October 24, 2024.
In the immediate aftermath, 63 hospitals and primary healthcare facilities were forcibly closed, with seven hospitals remaining partially operational and 36 hospitals directly impacted. These attacks have caused 24 vehicles to be damaged, 12 healthcare workers to be killed, and 60 to be injured.
