Lebanese table tennis player Bisan Cheri, 11, withdrew from the Portugal International Championship after she was put to face an Israeli component on Friday, November 25.
Bisan Cheri, 11, decided to withdraw from the World Table Tennis held in Portugal to avoid facing an Israeli player.
The decision was widely welcomed by Palestinian and Arab social media outlets when praised the courage of 11-year-old Bisan.
Earlier in November, Lebanese tennis player Mohammed Ataya withdrew from the Cyprus International Championship, avoiding confronting an Israeli player.
The Qatar World Cup 2022 witnessed several courageous positions boycotting the Israeli occupation as dozens of Arab and International fans expressed their solidarity with Palestine, refusing to conduct interviews with Israeli media outlets.
