The League of Arab States (LAS) and Jordan condemned Thursday, May 18, 2023, the Israeli racial storming into occupied Jerusalem in the so-called “flags march”, which inflames the tense situation in the area.
Ahmed Abo Al-Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, stressed that such reckless actions, which are taking place under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces and with the participation of some Israeli ministers and officials, will only push the situation to the explosion in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Abo Al-Gheit said that the continued Israeli settlers’ incursions into the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque led and encouraged by the far-right fascist government and its members, provoke the Arabs and Muslims’ feelings toward their holiest places.
Separately, the Jordanian Foreign Minister condemned the Israeli occupation allowing many extremist ministers, officials, Knesset members, and colonizers to storm Al-Aqsa Mosque and provoke the Palestinian worshipers under the protection of the Israeli forces.
“We warn against the escalation of the situation by allowing the provocative march into occupied Jerusalem, and we affirm that ‘Israel’ has no sovereignty over Jerusalem and the – Palestinian – sanctities,” he said.
