Jordan’s Petra news agency reported that the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates summoned Monday 18 April 2022 the Israeli Chargé d’Affairs in Amman to protest against the Israeli occupation violations at the al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem.
According to Petra, ministry spokesman Haitham Abul Ful said the Chargé d’Affairs was handed a letter of protest to his government, including a demand to immediately cease Israeli violations and attempts to change the historical and legal status quo at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, urging Israel to respect the freedom of worship.
Abul Ful slammed the attacks on the al-Aqsa mosque as a serious escalation and a violation of international law and Israel’s obligations as the occupying power.
