Dozens of anti-Zionist Jewish rabbis in the United States staged on Wednesday, September 21, 2023, a protest outside the United Nations General Assembly during the meeting between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and U.S. President Joe Biden.
The protesters waved Palestinian flags and held signs condemning Israeli actions against the Palestinian people, expressing their outright rejection of the meeting between Netanyahu and Biden, as well as the actions carried out by Netanyahu’s far-right government against Palestinian citizens.
The demonstration was organized by the “Neturei Karta” movement, which translates to “Guardians of the City” in Aramaic.
Founded in 1930, the movement boasts approximately 5,000 members worldwide, with the majority residing in Jerusalem, New York, Paris, and London.
On Wednesday, President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meetings in New York.
This meeting marks the first time since the formation of Netanyahu’s far-right government.
