Israeli Stop-Construction Orders Issued to 8 Palestinian Homes in Northern West Bank Village

The Israeli occupation on Thursday gave eight orders to stop building to Palestinian households in the village of Duma, near the northern West Bank city of Nablus, as well as an additional order to prevent the construction of a farm, as reported by a local official.

Suleiman Dawabshe, leader of the Duma village council, said that Israeli occupation forces invaded into the village and gave orders to cease building that included 2 two-story and one three-story houses, as well as a farm.

Usually, in Area C of the occupied territories, which is controlled by the Israeli military, a stopconstruction order serves as a precursor to the eventual demolition of the structure in question, regardless of the fact that it would be impossible to acquire a building permit.

The Israeli occupation keeps Area C, which makes up over 60% of the West Bank, for its unlawful settlement activities and prevents any Palestinian progress in this region.
