Israrli settlers stormed Monday, April 10, 2023, the “Bab Al-Zawiya” area, the commercial center of Hebron, and Yatta municipality park in the Karmel village, in the occupied West Bank city of Hebron.
Palestinian eyewitnesses said that dozens of Israeli settlers, under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces, stormed the Bab Al-Zawiya area, heading towards an archaeological site on Beersheba Street, which they claim the “tomb of Otnael bin Kenz.”
They added that the occupation forces raided the street, forcing the Palestinian owners of the shops to close them, and the Israeli settlers headed towards the “tomb of Otnael bin Qinz” area, dancing, singing, and shouting obscene phrases and insults against the Palestinians.
The coordinator of the National Committee Against the Apartheid Wall and Settlements south of Hebron, Ratib al-Jubour, said that dozens of Israeli settlers from the settlements built on Palestinian lands east of Yatta, Ma’on, Karmiel, Hafat Yair, Susiya, Mitzpe Yair, Havat Ma’on, Avijal, and Beit Yatir, stormed the Yatta municipality park and Swam in the Carmel Pool.
Al-Jabour added that the occupation forces severely beat the Palestinian activist Mohammad Ali Al-Shawahin, causing him bruises.
The occupation soldiers also climbed the roofs of several Palestinian houses overlooking the roads leading to the settlement outposts and the park to ensure the protection of the settlers.
