Israeli settlers on Sunday, July 16, 2023, set fire to hundreds of trees and attacked a Palestinian house in the town of Burin, south of Nablus in the occupied West Bank.
According to Ghassan Daghlas, the settlement affairs official in the northern West Bank, a group of Israeli settlers set fire to olive groves, burning hundreds of trees.
The settlers prevented the fire brigade from reaching the site to extinguish the flames.
Furthermore, the settlers erected a tent on the outskirts of the town, raising concerns among local Palestinians that it may be a precursor to the establishment of a new settlement outpost.
In another incident, settlers from the “Yitzhar” settlement attacked the Soufan family’s home under the protection of Israeli forces.
However, Palestinians confronted them, leading to confrontations that resulted in several Palestinians suffering from gas inhalation.
