Extremist settlers Wednesday, October 4, 2023, renewed their barbaric attacks on Christian pilgrims in the occupied city of Jerusalem, particularly in the vicinity of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
Majed al-Rashq, the guardian of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, reported that the targeting of Christians has been on the rise recently, with incidents involving spitting on monks and pilgrims.
Yousef Zahir Materi, Coordinator of the World Council of Churches in Jerusalem reported that Christian pilgrims in Jerusalem have faced repeated attacks over the past two years, especially under the current Israeli government.
Such blatant violations are fully backed by the new Israeli fascist government.
Israeli government’s policies have been perceived as heavy-handed and discriminatory.
The government’s actions, at times, seem to exploit Jewish holidays as a pretext for measures that affect non-Jewish people within the Holy City.
