Palestinian civilians were subjected to violent attacks by Israeli settlers and soldiers in several areas of the occupied West Bank last night, according to local sources.
The sources said that Israeli settlers, under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces, assaulted Palestinian vehicles and villages, smashing car windows, hurling stones and bottles, and threatening the lives of the people inside.
The attacks took place at the entrance to the village of Bittin, north of Ramallah city, and at the entrance to the village of Haris, west of Salfit city.
In both incidents, the Israeli occupation forces did not intervene to stop the settlers’ rampage, but instead fired tear gas and sound bombs at the Palestinian residents who tried to defend themselves and their property.
Several people suffered from gas inhalation and panic attacks as a result of the attacks, which caused material damage and fear among the local population.
Palestinians condemned the attacks as “terrorist acts” that aim to undermine the security and stability of the region, and called on the international community to intervene to protect the Palestinian people from the Israeli occupation’s aggression.
