According to a statement from Hassan Malihat, the general supervisor of the Al-Baidar human rights organization, a group of settlers targeted the community and assaulted residents, pouring flammable materials on olive trees, which led to a fire in the nearby growth.
Coinciding with the olive harvest season, settlers have intensified their assaults on farmers throughout the West Bank, targeting workers and farmers with gunfire, beatings, and theft of crops and equipment, all under the protection of Israeli occupation forces.
The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported 71 attacks in just one week, affecting 27 villages, about half of which were related to the olive harvest.
Between October 14 and 22, at least 78 new attacks were recorded, including land invasions, farm vandalism, vehicle arson, and the demolition of homes and agricultural or commercial facilities.
The report warned that these developments reflect a systematic Israeli policy aimed at imposing an accelerated settlement reality that fragments the West Bank and paves the way for de facto annexation of large areas, amid the absence of any effective international deterrence or real legal accountability.
