A group of Israeli settlers attacked on Sunday, May 21, 2023, Palestinian shepherds in the northern Jordan Valley, east of the occupied West Bank.
Palestinian human rights activist Aref Daraghmeh reported that Israeli settlers assaulted and sprayed with pepper gas the Palestinian Mohammed Awad and his son while grazing their sheep.
Israeli settlers and forces, aiming at seizing the whole area, systematically carried out attacks against the Palestinian lands in Jordan Valley.
The Jordan Valley’s lands, threatened with annexation by the Israeli new government, comprise a third of the occupied West Bank.
According to Palestinian figures, Israeli occupation forces and settlers carried out 442 attacks against Palestinians and their properties in April 2023.
A recent report by the UN revealed that Israeli settlers injured 1,222 Palestinians from 2012 to 2022 after carrying out 3,372 violent incidents.
