Israeli warplanes targeted several areas of the Gaza Strip over the last 24 hours and killed at least 40 Palestinians.
In a statement published on Sunday, the Health Ministry in Gaza said that the latest Israeli airstrikes brought the death toll to 41،431 since last Oct. 7.
The ministry statement added that a total of 95،818 people have been injured in Israeli attacks since last October.
“Many people are still trapped under rubble and on the roads as rescuers cannot reach them as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip for the 352nd day,” the ministry noted.
Since last Oct. 7, the Israeli military has continued its brutal offensive on the Gaza Strip, despite a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate cease-fire.
An ongoing blockade of Gaza has led to severe shortages of food, clean water, and medicine, leaving much of the region in ruins.
Israel faces accusations of genocide at the International Court of Justice, which has ordered a halt to military operations in the southern city of Rafah, where over one million Palestinians had sought refuge before the area was invaded on May 6.
