DAYS OF PALESTINE – Israeli and Turkish Presidents Isaac Herzog Recep Tayyip Erdogan have announced that Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu will visit Israel next month.
A spokesman for Lapid told reporters that Cavusoglu had expressed interest in visiting, but the visit had not yet been scheduled.
Cavusoglu spoke with Lapid on January 22, marking the first telephone conversation between the foreign ministries of the two countries in 13 years.
The Duke’s trip to Ankara on Wednesday was the highest-level visit by an Israeli official since former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert visited Turkey in 2008.
Erdogan said he believes the Duke’s historic visit will be a turning point in relations between Turkey and Israel.
