Israeli occupation issued an illegal decision to demolish a residential building owned by a Palestinian in the Silwan neighborhood, south of Al-Aqsa Mosque today, Sunday, December 11, 2022.
Local Palestinian sources reported that the occupation authorities issued an order to demolish a residential building belonging to the Palestinian Al-Rajabi family in Silwan, which was built 30 years ago.
Using the pretext of building without a permit, which is rarely granted to Palestinians in the occupied city, the Israeli municipality has demolished and forced Palestinians to demolish hundreds of Palestinian-owned houses as part of a policy to restrict Palestinian expansion in occupied Jerusalem.
At the same time, the municipality and government build tens of thousands of housing units in illegal settlements in East Jerusalem for Jews with the goal to offset the demographic balance in favor of the Jewish settlers in the occupied city.
On Sunday, November 14, 2022, the Israeli occupation prepared a plan to construct 9000 illegal settlement units on Palestinian lands of the shuttered Qalandia airport, north of occupied Jerusalem, in the West Bank.
