Israeli occupation warplanes targeted on Friday night, the Damascus International Airport, and killed five Syrian soldiers, the Syrian ministry of defense reported.
Earlier Saturday, the Syrian defense ministry reported that Israeli warplanes attacked the airport and other targets around 00:45 local time.
“The aggression resulted in the killing of five soldiers and caused material damage,” military sources said.
For its part, the Hamas movement condemned the Israeli bombing of Syria, stressing that this aggression came as part of the Israeli ongoing aggression against the whole area.
Israel has intensified strikes on Syria over the past weeks. In June, Israeli air raids put Damascus airport out of service for nearly two weeks.
