The Israeli occupation released Monday, May 8, 2023, the preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Ikrima Sabri, after detaining him for several hours in the Israeli Al-Maskoubiya detention center, west of occupied Jerusalem.

The lawyer, Khaled Zabarqa, said that the occupation forces released Sabri after detaining and interrogating him for more than 4 hours under unjust conditions.

He explained that the Israeli occupation released Sabri under many conditions, including attending to interrogation whenever they want and not contacting 3 Palestinian news agencies, which are Al-Aqsa, Al-Manar, and Al-Mayadin.

Zabarqa indicated that the Israeli occupation’s interrogation of Sabri was at the request of extremist Israeli settlers groups.

However, Ikrima Sabri confirmed his steadfastness and adherence to his firm stances towards the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Occupied Jerusalem.

“The investigation by the occupation dealt with topics related to current issues, and in turn, we confirmed our firm stance towards Islamic sanctities and Al-Aqsa,” said Sabri.

He added that the investigation also dealt with his participation in the International Quds Day activity and his stance against the daily Israeli settlers storming the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Ikrima Sabri was subjected to repeated detention and investigation by the Israeli occupation, as well as it issued many unjust decisions against him, including deporting him from Al-Aqsa, Banning his travel outside Palestine, and banning him from contacting many Palestinian characters.
