Israeli occupation forces prevented Friday, 2 June 2023 the Palestinian civil defense crews from reaching the fires raging in large lands in the besieged village of al-Nu`man, east of Bethlehem.
The head of the village council Jamal Al-Darawi said in a press statement that the fire broke out near the apartheid wall that surrounds the village and spread to dozens of dunums and surrounded the Palestinian residents’ homes.
Israeli occupation forces prevented the Palestinian civil defense crews who came quickly from reaching the scene, he added.
Al-Darawi explained that about 150 olive trees and a hundred almond trees, all of which had been planted for decades, were totally burned.
He pointed out that about 20 Palestinian citizens suffered from suffocation and they received field aid.
