Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) has strongly condemned on Thursday, October 13, 2022, the continuing attacks by Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) and settlers against Palestinian health workers in the occupied West Bank.
According to the PRSC, IOF assaulted two Palestine Red Cross Society paramedics during a military incursion in occupied Nablus.
In a separate incident, IOF had also closed the entrance to the central warehouse of Palestinian Ministry of Health in Salem village and prevented paramedics from accessing into the warehouse yards.
“The frequency and brutality of attacks on Palestinian health workers is extremely concerning but sadly something we have become used to in the West Bank,” said Aisha Mansour, MAP’s West Bank Director. “Until there is meaningful action to address these attacks including through independent investigation and accountability Palestinian health workers will not be safe to carry out their essential duties.”
Over the last month, the PRCS Has reported 383 violations committed by Israeli forces against the Palestinian emergency medical teams in the Occupied West Bank, including 19 cases of ham bring of ambulances 331 cases of denial of access for paramedics to the scene of emergencies and 14 direct attacks on PRSC staff and volunteers.
