Israeli forces opened fire on members of tribal committees trying to organize the distribution of aid at the Kuwait Roundabout in Gaza City killing at least 23.
Local sources reported that Israeli occupation deliberately killed 23 Palestinians from tribal committees trying to organize the distribution of aid, adding that the number of casualties was likely to increase.
The committee members were waiting at a UNRWA facility in an area classed by the Israeli military as “safe” to distribute aid to Palestinian residents besieged by the occupation, sources added.
Earlier on Tuesday, the UN accused Israel of using starvation as a “weapon of war”, stating that could be a “war crime”.
“The situation of hunger, starvation, and famine is a result of Israel’s extensive restrictions on the entry and distribution of humanitarian aid and commercial goods,” said United Nations Human Rights Commissioner Volker Turk.
