Prisoners’ Institutions reported on Sunday, September 11, 2022, that the Israeli occupation arrested 607 Palestinians during the month of August 2022.
During the month of August 2022, the Israeli occupation forces detained 607 Palestinians from the occupied Palestinian lands, including 59 children and 13 women, most of which are from the occupied Jerusalem constituted, followed by Hebron, Bethlehem, and Jenin.
August 2022 witnessed a high intensity of violations and crimes carried out by the occupation, including field executions, collective punishment, and arrests, which were accompanied by grave violations against the Palestinian detainees and their families.
The occupation forces intentionally assaulted the Palestinians when they are detained, which lead to various injuries, some of which are severe, among the detainees.
Prisoners and human rights institutions indicated that the number of Palestinian detainees in the Israeli occupation prisons reached about 4,650 detainees, by the end of August 2022, including 32 female prisoners, about 180 minors, 743 administrative detainees, including two female prisoners, and four children.
The highest rate of arrests during August was in Jerusalem, amounting to 148 cases, including 30 children and 7 women, followed by Hebron with 118 cases, and Bethlehem with 96 cases
However, the number of administrative detention orders issued during the month was 272 orders, including 143 new orders, and 129 renewal orders.
