Israeli occupation issued 242 administrative detention orders against Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails in November 2022.
In a statement, Commission for Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs stated Sunday, 4 December 2022 that the Israeli occupation issued 120 new administrative orders and 122 renewal orders for periods ranging from two to six months.
The total number of administrative detention orders since the beginning of 2022 amounted to 2050 administrative detention orders, The commission added.
Israeli occupation currently holds about 830 administrative detainees inside its jails including 5 Palestinian children and 3 female Palestinian prisoners identified as Bushra Al-Taweel, Shurouk Al-Badan, and Raghad Al-Fanni.
Israel’s illegal policy of administrative detention is a pre-emptive measure that allows the detention of Palestinians without charge or trial for lengthy periods of time based on disclosed allegations that even a detainee’s lawyer is barred from viewing.
