Israeli occupation handed Sunday 8 May 2022 a demolition notice for a Palestinian family in the Ein al-Lawzeh neighborhood in the town of Silwan, East Jerusalem, using the pretext of building without a permit.
Israeli occupation handed a demolition notice to the Rajabi family, ordering the demolition of the two-story building within days. The building consists of five apartments and is home to at least 30 people, including children and women.
Israeli occupation cited unpermitted construction as a pretext for the demolition, but in actual fact, the Israeli authorities refuse to grant Palestinians any building permits in Jerusalem.
The occupation gave the family a choice between self-demolishing the building, which the family refused, or having the municipality bulldozers demolish it.
