Days of Palestine – Ramallah
The so-called Israeli occupation Prison Service refused Tuesday to fund a medical operation for the prisoner Israa Al-Jaabis in her nose, after the burns she sustained in 2015.
According to Hebrew media, the defense team for the captive Jaabis had submitted an appeal in this regard before the Supreme Occupation Court, while the occupation’s Prison Authority said that it would reconsider her request before deciding today not to fund the operation.
The Occupation Prisons Authority claimed that it is only committed to the medical treatment it provides to prisoners in accordance with the laws in force.
The Minister of Internal Security in the occupation government, Omer Bar-Lev, said a few days ago that the surgery for the prisoner Jaabis will not be funded.
The prisoner, Al-Jaabis, suffers from various burns due to the explosion of a gas cylinder while she was at Hizma Checkpoint.
