Days of Palestine – Ramallah
Israeli occupation forces (IOF) detained on Tuesday overnight at least 11 Palestinians from the West Bank, according to local sources.
They said that IOF rounded up a Palestinian who purportedly rammed his car into an armored military vehicle during a home demolition raid in Silat ad-Dhahr town, northwest of Jenin.
Heavily-armed occupation soldiers barged their way into the northern West Bank city of Nablus and detained another after storming his family house.
They also rounded up another from Rujeib town, east of Nablus, and ransacked his house, turning it upside down.
In Jerusalem, IOF rounded up three teens from the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, as confirmed by the Wadi Hilweh Information Center.
IOF conducted a similar raid in Biddu town, northeast of Jerusalem, where they detained four others and searched their houses, tampering with their contents.
The sources confirmed a similar raid in the nearby towns of Qatanna and Beit ‘Anan, resulting in the detention of two others, including a former prisoner who was released several hours afterward.
On Monday evening, a Palestinian was detained after being stopped at a checkpoint at the entrance of Shufa village, southeast of Tulkarm. The detainee was identified as a resident of the northern West Bank city.
This came as soldiers detained an 11-year-old boy during confrontations in Aida refugee camp, north of Bethlehem.
Meanwhile, undercover Israeli forces, known as Musta’ribeen, sneaked their way into the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Beit Hanina and kidnaped two minors.
IOF frequently raid Palestinian houses almost on a daily basis across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.
These raids, which take place also in areas under the full control of the Palestinian Authority, are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.
