A Palestinian youth was wounded and three others were arrested by Israeli occupation forces during a raid on a refugee camp in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday, witnesses said.
The raid targeted the Jabr camp in the Jericho district, where clashes erupted between the Israeli occupation forces and local residents, according to local sources.
One of the residents, who asked not to be named, told Xinhua that a young man was shot in the leg by a live bullet fired by the Israeli occupation forces. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The sources also said that the Israeli forces broke into and searched several homes in the camp, and detained three Palestinians, including two brothers. The detainees were taken to an unknown location.
The Israeli occupation forces did not immediately comment on the incident.
The Jabr camp is home to about 5,000 Palestinian refugees who fled or were expelled from their villages during the 1948 war that led to the creation of the Israeli occupation.
The Israeli occupation frequently conducts raids and arrests in the occupied West Bank, citing security reasons. The Palestinians say these operations are part of the Israeli efforts to undermine their national aspirations and rights.
