Israeli occupation forces demolished Thursday, 30 march 2023 Palestinian-owned house in the occupied West Bank village of Nuwaima village, north of Jericho.

Local Palestinian sources reported that Israeli occupation troops invaded the Nuwaima village accompanied by two military bulldozers and demolished a 150-square-meters house belonging to Palestinian man Atta Daoud Zayed Tarifat, leaving 5 people homeless.

Israeli occupation forces had handed the house owner a notice to demolish it under the pretext of not having a permit.

Israeli occupation is trying in various ways to forcibly displace Palestinians from their own lands and demolish their homes in favor of settlement expansion using pretexts most notably building without a permit.

During the first 3 months of 2023, Israeli occupation demolished 287 Palestinian-owned structures in the occupied  West Bank and Jerusalem, according to the United Nations Organization for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OCHA).

The organization explained that most of the demolitions were carried out under the pretext of lacking a building permit, noting that “it is almost impossible for Palestinians to obtain such or that permit.”
