Israeli occupation bulldozers demolished on Wednesday, 3 May 2023 a six-story residential building in the Dahiyat al-Salam neighborhood in Anata, northeast of occupied Jerusalem.
Local Palestinian sources reported that Israeli occupation forces backed by military bulldozers invaded the Dahiyeh neighborhood, surrounded the building, and proceeded to demolish it without prior warnings.
Sources added that the building consists of six floors adding that each floor consists of 3 apartments.
Israeli military forces demolished the residential building, leaving 8 Palestinian families including women and children homeless.
Israeli occupation escalated the demolition orders against the Palestinian homes and properties in the towns and villages in occupied Jerusalem, aiming to force the Palestinian residents to leave their own lands under the pretext of building without a permit.
In 2022, Israeli occupation forces forcibly demolished more than 209 inhabited Palestinain facilities in various areas of occuiped Jerusalem. Israeli occupation also confiscated a number of Palestinian-owned lands and properties in favor of Israeli settlers’ expansion most notably the land of Hamra in the Silwan neighborhood.
