The Israeli occupation has approved Sunday, May 28, 2023, the building of 3000 new illegal Israeli settlement units across the occupied West Bank, including Jerusalem, the National Office for Defending the Land and Resisting Settlements of the PLO reported.
In its weekly report on Israeli settlements, the National Office stated that the Israeli occupation approved building more than 600 settlement units in the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood, east of Jerusalem.
615 other settlement units have been approved to be built in the biggest Israeli settlement in Jerusalem, Pisgat Ze’ev, and another settlement in the West Bank, the report said.
It indicated the approval of the “Israeli Local Committee for Planning and Building” in Jerusalem to deposit two plans for the establishment of 1,700 new settlement units east of the Israeli “Ramot” settlement, which is built on the Palestinian lands of Beit Iksa and Lifta towns in Jerusalem.
According to the report, the approval of these new units is part of an Israeli settlement project scheduled to complete the construction of 58,000 settlement units in East Jerusalem.
