Israeli Navy Destroys Palestinian Fishing Boat off Gaza Shore

M.Y | DOP -

Israeli occupation navy on Sunday morning, July 24, targeted and destroyed a Palestinian fishing boat off Rafah shore, southern Gaza Strip.

Local sources reported that Israeli gunboats fired at a fishing boat west of Rafah, completely burning and destroying it.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian fishermen managed to swim and return safely to the beach.

In a related incident, the Israeli tanks opened fire at the Palestinian agricultural lands, east of Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip. No injuries have been reported.

4000 Palestinian fishermen risk their lives every day to make a living. According to the Palestinian Fishermen’s Association in Gaza, there are some 4,000 fishermen working in Gaza’s fishing sector, who are providing for about 50,000 dependents.

Palestinians in Gaza are living under air, land, and sea blockade imposed by Israel since 2006. Israel deliberately targets Palestinian fishing boats and agricultural lands on daily basis.
