Shay Zanco, an Israeli model known for her work with Vogue and Victoria’s Secret, was expelled from an Egyptian hotel during her visit to Egypt, Israeli Jerusalem Post reported on Saturday, August 5, 2023.
Invited to accompany rapper Travis Scott to a concert in the country, Zanco’s visit took an unexpected turn when the performance was canceled and she was later kicked out of the hotel.
“Within about a day of her arrival, her hotel discovered that she was Israeli, and she was asked to leave the hotel immediately,” the Israeli website said.
Egyptians, having a longstanding history of solidarity with the Palestinian cause, have consistently shown loyalty and support to Palestine.
Over the years, they have been vocal in opposing any form of normalization with Israel, particularly in light of the ongoing occupation of Palestinian territories.
The abrupt decision to ask Zanco to leave the hotel in the absence of Travis Scott’s team reflects the refusal to allow any representation of Israeli presence in Egypt, signifying the nation’s commitment to the Palestinian issue.
While Israel has made efforts to forge alliances with some Arab leaders and rulers in recent times, the majority of the Arab population remains steadfast in their support for Palestine and their opposition to any form of normalization with Israel.
