Thousands of Israeli protesters took part in mass protests in Ben Gurion Airport to prevent Netanyahu’s trip to Rome on Thursday, March 9, 2023.
Israeli media sources reported that the Israeli Prime Minister headed to the airport via a helicopter to avoid the Israeli protesters.
The sources pointed out that Israeli forces fired tear gas canisters to disperse the protesters’ crowds and arrested several.
Since the start of 2023, several protests have been held against the new government. More than 100,000 people turned up in Tel Aviv only on January 21, 2023.
The protests are mainly organized against the government’s proposed changes that will ‘weaken the judicial system’. Some protests criticized the country’s treatment of Palestinians.
