The Bedouin Rights Defense Organization reported on Saturday, September 2, 2023, that Israeli occupation forces and settlers carried out 86 attacks against Bedouin communities in the occupied West Bank during August 2023.
These violations included physical assaults on Palestinian citizens, demolitions of homes and land confiscations, uprooting and destruction of crops, seizure of properties, establishment of new settlement outposts, setting up night checkpoints to terrorize citizens, and preventing shepherds from entering neighboring pastures.
The general supervisor of the Bedouin Rights Defense Organization, Hassan Mleihat, noted that the previous month witnessed a significant increase in the scale of attacks against Bedouin communities, which were considered the most violent.
He explained that Israeli authorities and settlers launched major acts of terrorism against Bedouin communities, reflecting a clear policy of ethnic cleansing.
Mleihat stated that Israeli authorities demolished, seized, and issued demolition orders for approximately 63 residential structures and equipment in Bedouin communities during August 2023, while settlers carried out around 38 attacks against Bedouin communities, indicating an escalation in the scale of these attacks.
He emphasized that the occupation is determined to forcibly uproot and deport the Bedouin through maximum pressure policies and land seizures, considering this a full-fledged war against Bedouin communities in the West Bank.
