Israeli occupation forces shot and killed a Palestinian youth near the Huwara checkpoint in the occupied West Bank city of Nablus on Friday evening, February 3, 2023.
Palestinian civil authority officials confirmed that Israeli forces killed Abdullah Qalalweh, 25, a Jenin resident, near the Huwara checkpoint, south of occupied Nablus.
Israeli Channel 13 alleged that a Palestinian youth tried to grab an Israeli soldier’s weapon before he was shot. Other media sources said that he was unarmed.
Palestinian media sources shared videos and photos of Abdulla’s family members bidding him farewell at a local hospital in occupied Nablus.
Israeli occupation forces have escalated violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem since the start of 2023.
Israeli forces killed 36 Palestinian youths, including 8 children, so far in 2023, according to data from the Palestinian ministry of health.
21 of the victims are from Jenin, the latest of which is Abdullah Qalalweh who is considered the first victim in February 2023.
