Israeli occupation forces issued on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, stop-work orders today for eight Palestinian houses in the town of Qarawat Bani Hassan, west of Salfit.
Local sources reported that Israeli forces entered the northern area of the town and delivered notices ordering the cessation of construction work in eight houses, some of which were still under construction, while others were already inhabited.
The owners of these houses were identified as Nazem Mahmoud Assi, Mahmoud Jamal Assi, Mohammed Fathi, and Sati Mithqal.
This action adds to the long list of measures taken by Israeli authorities to restrict Palestinian construction and expansion in the occupied West Bank.
Such orders have significant consequences for Palestinian families, as they disrupt their lives and livelihoods, further exacerbating the already challenging living conditions in the region.
Israeli policies of house demolitions, stop-work orders, and land confiscations have been widely criticized by the international community for their detrimental impact on the Palestinian people.
Palestinians continue to face numerous obstacles and challenges as they strive to build and maintain their homes and communities in the face of these restrictions.
