Israeli occupation forces fired on Sunday, August 13, 2023, toxic tear gas towards several Palestinian citizens in the town of Sebastia, northwest of Nablus. Several Palestinians have been suffocated as a result.
The mayor of Sebastia, Mohammed Azem, reported that Israeli forces, accompanied by a bus carrying settlers, forcefully entered the town’s archaeological site.
They fired an intensive tear gas canisters at Palestinian citizens, suffocating multiple Palestinian citizens.
He pointed out that Israeli forces detained a Palestinian citizen in one of their military vehicles and removed Palestinian flags from the area.
The town of Sebastia is frequently subjected to incursions by Israeli forces and settlers, who seek to gain control over and seal off the archaeological area in the town.
