DaysofPal – The Israeli occupation forces continued, on Monday morning, their escalating violations of the ceasefire agreement in effect in the Gaza Strip since October 10, targeting several eastern areas of the enclave with artillery shelling and air attacks. These assaults further undermine an already fragile truce that Israel has been systematically eroding.
Local sources said that the eastern parts of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip were heavily targeted by Israeli helicopter gunships. This came alongside intense artillery shelling that struck the surroundings of agricultural lands and eastern towns of the city, amid heavy overflights by warplanes and reconnaissance aircraft.
Israeli military vehicles stationed along the eastern border of Khan Younis also continued to fire relentlessly, spreading fear among residents and forcing some civilians to flee their locations.
In Rafah, Israeli warplanes carried out a series of airstrikes targeting several sites on the southern outskirts of the city, while heavy gunfire from military vehicles was reported north of Rafah. At the same time, Israeli forces continued demolition and land-leveling operations in areas adjacent to the border.
Witnesses in Gaza City reported that Israeli military vehicles opened fire on the city’s eastern areas, adding to the long list of daily ceasefire violations.
According to statistics released by the Government Media Office in Gaza, Israeli forces have killed 391 people since the truce came into force on October 10 and injured hundreds more with varying degrees of severity.
The office noted that Israel continues to carry out daily attacks, including shelling, live fire, limited incursions, and the targeting of farmers and fishermen.
The media office further stated that hundreds of violations have been recorded over the past 60 days, stressing that these actions reflect a clear Israeli attempt to impose new realities on the ground despite the formal declaration of a ceasefire.
This escalation comes as Israeli forces persist in targeting border areas, intensifying aerial activity, and launching intermittent strikes, in blatant defiance of international efforts calling for the stabilization of the truce and the prevention of its collapse.
