Late Monday, Israeli Police and the Shin Bet declared thay arrested the sister of the head of Hamas’s political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, in a raid on her home in the Naqab in the south.
Images published by Palestinian media showed members of the Israeli security services storming the house of 57-year-old Sabah Abdel Salam Haniyeh, who lives with her family in Tel Sheva, a few kilometres east of the city of Beersheba.
In a joint statement, the Israeli police said it carried out along with border guard reinforcement a security operation called “Early Dawn” to arrest Sabah Haniyeh, accusing her of inciting “terrorism” and having ties with Hamas Movement in Gaza.
Her arrest came in time ‘Israel’ has been using several pressure means to push forward a obstinate deal with Hamas that could lead to the release of Israeli hostages.
The Israeli police claimed to have found documents, mobile phones, cash and gold bars in Sabah home proving her involvement in “operations against Israel.”
Extremist Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich previously said that Mossad chief David Barnea should go to Qatar to assassinate the head of Hamas’ Political Bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, and not to hold discussions with him.
