Israeli occupation forces Tuesday, August 1, 2023, bulldozed and uprooted trees in the towns of Turmusayya and Khirbet Suba, west of Hebron in the occupied West Bank.
Local farmer Mohammed Abdel-Fattah Abu Sakur reported that Israeli forces, accompanied by a military bulldozer, leveled approximately two dunams of his land.
The incident took place in the vicinity of the Israeli military camp established on the lands of Turmusayya. The forces also uprooted 40 olive and grape trees during the operation.
In a separate incident on the same day, Israeli forces also razed agricultural lands and demolished stone walls in Khirbet Suba, a town west of Hebron.
During the raid on Khirbet Suba, the Israeli forces uprooted dozens of almond and citrus trees and razed stone walls on a plot of land measuring approximately three dunams, owned by Muram Mnjed Al-Awaywe.
These actions are part of the ongoing Israeli policy of land confiscation and demolitions in the occupied West Bank.
Local Palestinian farmers and communities continue to face severe challenges in protecting their lands and livelihoods due to such military actions.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in the occupied Palestinian territory reported that Israel demolished, confiscated, or forced Palestinians to demolish 54 structures in East Jerusalem and Area C of the West Bank in July, displacing 66 people and affecting the livelihoods of nearly 800 others.
