Israeli occupation forces IOF demolished a home in the town of Farush Beit Dajan, located northeast of the city of Nablus in the northern West Bank on Monday morning, September 18, 2023.
The head of the village council of Farush Beit Dajan, Azem Hajj Muhammad, stated that a large Israeli bulldozer, accompanied by military occupation vehicles, invaded the town and proceeded to demolish the house belonging to the Palestinian citizen Samir Hajj Muhammad, reducing it to rubble.
Hajj Muhammad explained that the house had been under a construction halt for several months, and a demolition order had been issued. Today, this order was carried out.
Building Without Permits
The head of the village council also pointed out that dozens of houses and agricultural structures in the town are under threat of being stopped and demolished under the pretext of unauthorized construction.
Israel frequently conducts demolitions of Palestinian homes in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem, asserting that these structures lack the necessary permits, which are exceedingly difficult to obtain.
Additionally, there are instances where Palestinian homeowners are compelled to either demolish their own residences or bear the expenses associated with the demolitions.
In August 2023, Israeli occupation forces carried out 36 demolitions of homes and commercial structures in the West Bank, in addition to issuing 106 demolition, construction halt, and eviction notices, citing unlicensed construction or military training exercises, according to the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission.
