Israeli occupation forces seized a collection of Palestinian curriculum textbooks from the bags of students on their way to the Al-Aqsa School and the Riyadh Al-Aqsa kindergarten located within the precincts of Al-Aqsa Mosque on Monday morning, September 4, 2023.
Palestinian local sources reported that the occupation forces intercepted several students, searched their bags, and confiscated the books, alleging that they were of the Palestinian curriculum and had the Palestinian flag on them.
On August 31st of last year, Israeli forces confiscated a number of textbooks that were en route to a private school teaching the Palestinian curriculum in the Old City of Jerusalem. They arrested the vehicle’s driver and a school employee.

Israel is vigorously striving, backed by substantial funds, to Judaize curricula and Arab schools in the city of Jerusalem in an attempt to mold the minds of Palestinian students and strip them of their national identity.
The education sector in Jerusalem has faced several critical challenges since its occupation in 1967, hindering its development and suffocating it.
Among the most significant challenges it faces are organized attempts to Judaize curricula as part of the endeavor to impose new realities on the ground in favor of Israel.
