Israeli occupation bulldozers conducted an extensive demolition and excavation operation on the property of Palestinian resident Khalid Al-Zeer in the town of Silwan, south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque on Wednesday, August 9, 2023,
Israeli occupation forces invaded Khalid Al-Zeer’s property and residence in the Abbasia neighborhood of Silwan. They surrounded the premises and initiated excavation activities targeting the land and existing agricultural facilities, including farming structures, stone formations, and wooden columns.
In the course of this operation, the occupation forces and work crews established a cordon around Al-Zeer’s house, subsequently forcibly entering it and emptying its contents before proceeding to carry out the demolition.
Over the past fourteen days, occupation crews have repeatedly encroached upon Al-Zeer’s land and. They also issued a demolition notice for all structures situated on the property a few days ago.
In July 2023, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) revealed that Israel either destroyed, seized, or compelled Palestinians to dismantle a total of 54 buildings in Jerusalem and the West Bank.
