Israeli occupation forces IOF opened fire and attacked Palestinian farmers and fishermen while assuming their jobs in the eastern and western areas of the Gaza Strip on Monday, May 29, 2023.
The Israeli forces, stationed near the border areas of Khan Younis, opened fire at Palestinian farmers while farming their lands. No injuries have been reported.
Local sources pointed out that at least 11 Israeli military vehicles carried out a limited incursion into the Zaytoun neighborhood, east of Gaza while 8 others infiltrated into Palestinian agricultural lands east of Khan Younis.
In addition, the Israeli Navy opened fire on Palestinian fishermen in the Al-Sudaniya area, west of Gaza City. No injuries were reported. However, fishermen were forced to leave the sea for safety.
Israeli occupation forces systematically target Palestinian fishermen and farmers in the besieged Gaza Strip, razing their lands, confiscating equipment, and detaining them.
The Israeli air, land, and sea blockade imposed since 2006 banned the Palestinian fishermen in Gaza from buying items needed to repair fishing boats. These items included motors, propellers, fiberglass, and many others.
Israeli occupation forces withdrew from the Gaza Strip in 2006. However, Israel still controls every aspect of the Palestinians’ lives in the besieged enclave.
