Israeli occupation forces IOF carried out a series of house raids and arrests in various areas of the West Bank and Jerusalem, resulting in the detention of 16 Palestinians, including five family members last night and early Monday morning, August 7, 2023.
In the village of Burqa, east of Ramallah, Amar Asaliah and his four sons, Saqr, Mahmoud, Mohammed, and Abd, were arrested after their house was raided and searched by IOF.
Local sources reported that Maher Nussaira from Al-Mughayir village to the east and Mubtasim Rimawi from Beit Rima village to the west were also arrested by Israeli forces.
Additionally, in Bethlehem, Israeli forces detained Qusai Omar Subeih, 23, from Al-Khader town, and Yazan Mahmoud Taqataqa, 20, from Beit Fajjar town after conducting house raids and searches.
In Jenin, Israeli forces stormed the city through the Jalameh military checkpoint with more than 20 military vehicles accompanied by special units. Snipers were positioned on the rooftops of Palestinian buildings.
The IOF arrested Mohammad Sameer Khmayyisa and Hassan Yunis Boujerma after raiding their homes in the Al-Marah neighborhood.
The Israeli channel “KAN” reported that Israeli army forces raided Jenin city early today, arresting a wanted person, and an exchange of gunfire occurred without any injuries among the soldiers.
In Nablus, Israeli forces raided Beit Furik town and the Shu’fat Housing Complex in the eastern part of the city, and kidnapped Zuhair Nassar, Mahmoud Nassar, and Kazem Hanani, after raiding their homes and tampering with their contents.
Some money was stolen by the Israeli forces during the raid.
In Jerusalem, large numbers of Israeli forces stormed the Shuafat refugee camp and arrested the young man, Luay Al-Saad, 25, after raiding his home.
The Israeli military’s incursions and arrests are part of the ongoing Israeli occupation measures in the Palestinian territories, and they continue to cause tension and clashes between the Palestinian people and Israeli forces.
In July 2023, the Palestinian Center for Prisoners Studies (PCPS) reported that Israeli occupation forces (IOF) arrested a total of 530 Palestinians, including 42 children and 8 females.
