The Secretary-General of the Palestinian Struggle, Dr. Ahmad Majdalani, considered Tuesday, November 22, 2022 Israeli-European negotiations very dangerous to happen.
Majdalani mentioned that the planned data-exchange agreement between the two sides that includes areas administered by the Palestinian Authority is a violation of the rights of the Palestinian people and international protocols.
He added that the draft agreement is a critical issue that has to be taken serious as it allows the Israeli occupation forces to use personal data from the European police in the areas controlled by the Palestinian authority.
The draft agreement indicates that the occupation forces may use the data exceptionally in the geographical areas that were subject to the occupation administration after June 5, 1967.
It’s noteworthy that 13 of the 27 European Union countries strongly rejected the use of data.
A meeting revealed warnings made by the representative of France, and representatives of other European countries such as Ireland and Luxembourg, that this would create a dangerous precedent with great political consequences.
Majdalani called on the European Union countries to stop these negotiations and retract them.
